Guest guest
Thanks for the information, Delia. I was already told I would have a drain in my neck, so I know that will happen, but I will keep in mind the indigestion problem you had, just in case. > > Hi , > I had my surgery in October, not so long ago that I don't remember all my anticiaption of it... now I'm just anticipating RAI, but that's another story... THe surgery probably won't be as bad as you are expecting (and I am sure that is very strong, we all have to be ), most of us here have had " positive " experiences... The worst part about my whole experience (other than the roommate I had in the hospital-her daughter kept bringing her smelly food, and I was only there for 24 hours!) Was that I woke up with what I think now was painful indigestion of some kind, and the nurse paniced, and called the doctor on call who ordered an EKG and a chest X ray. the EKG tech, stripped off the top of my gown ( I hate being naked!!!) didn't close the cutain or try to make me feel comfortable (all this at 4am) I actually complained about this on the hospital survey I was sent... only bad thing I could come up with to say. I didn't have any sort of drainage tube in my inscision (I've read about it a couple of times in posts) and my sutures were disolvable, so no need to remove them. My voice and throat were sore for a little while from being intubated, but that was the only complaint I have. You'll be having surgery the same day I have my first pre-RAI scan... so I'm in the hypo stage of things now...I hope what I am typing is actually readable... I'll think of you on Friday.
