Guest guest
His he like me and reacts to being in the doc's office? It took a long time for me to learn to stay relaxed while waiting for my appointments... I started taking a book to read, and used and alarm watch to remind me when it was time to start nagging about my appointment being past it's time..... I often had to take time off work to go in, so being there extended periods of time past my appointment cost me time/MONEY, not to mention made bosses angry that I wasn't back when I was supposed to be.... Just wondering... Guest guest
What I understand, tachycardia isn't dx'd by blood pressure, but pulse. I don't know the pulse rate when it starts to be tachy, but I've had it at 130, 150 and 190 and all were called tachy. jane > > hey all, had a question for you. its not thyroid related, but i did > notice a recent post regarding tachycardia, cant seem to locate it at > the moment. any idea like what bp range is considered to be this? my > fiance went yesterday for physical therapy with his shoulder and when > they took his bp it was 210/120. they made him lay in a dark room for > 10 minutes and when they retook it had gone to 160/121. he had been in > the waiting room for like 45 minutes, so its not as though he had just > ran up and down stairs or anything. i personally feel he should have > an ekg, but hes the 'its no big deal' type. any input? i personally > have extremely low bp, so kinda clueless. thanx > angie >

There also is false high readings when the cuff is not the right size--- for example, if the arm is larger , and the cuff is not....Pain also affec ts... Guest guest
very good to know. actually, it was very cold outside and he says it was VERY warm in the hospital. also, he says the cuff not only was tight, but he says it burst apart lol. i told him to ask for a large cuff from now on to avoid false readings. i suppose the long wait to be seen didnt help either... prob just a bad series of events lol. thanx you guys > > Also what may affect is going inside when there is a large temp change-- like when it is hot outside and air-conditioned inside, may work that way too when cold outside an hot inside.
