Guest guest
, I can't believe you brought this up today. I had Pey at therapy yesterday and his SLP showed me the article. It was very good. Great pictures of Aubrie and Adele. Great exposure for CHARGE! One thing that was printed in the article was all the types of specialists kids with CHARGE need to see and one of them listed was a Neurotoligist. I wasn't familiar with this one. Anyone know what that is? Peyton's therapists weren't familiar with it either. Thanks for sharing! Guest guest
Neurologist , may be for nerve related conditions. my daughter aquired facial palsy in her 10 month. she is 15 months now. So we went to a neurologist who ordered and MRI and CT scan and found her right facial nerve is smaller than left and also both nerves are smaller than normal size. but that still did not explain why she got the palsy, because when was born she did not have it. we have another followup this month. When the guy called, I wasn't sure how widely distributed or respected this publication is -- but I have been pleasantly surprised! I think the article is very well done. And it sure does seem to be something that gets read. Perhaps because it doesn't have tons of content so it's easy for professionals to manage. I have no idea what a neurotoligist is either. Guest guest
Hello everyone, I emailed Jim Thelin this morning about the term Neurotoligist. Here is his definition: *Neuro-otologist* is an otologist who specializes in the inner ear and auditory nerve. I also did a search and was directed to the web site for the Hyperacusis Network **which consists of individuals who have a collapsed tolerance to sound. n Michele Westmaas wrote: > Rita- > Maybe it was a typo -- they called it a " neurotologist " -- but neurologist > isn't listed anywhere.
