I've used it for a week and it's wonderful! Before you download your email you open Mailwasher and check the email waiting on the server. It automatically marks spam from the known spammers, then gives you the option to designate other email as from a spam, from a friend, or " normal. " It bounces the spam back to the sender as undeliverable then deletes the email from the server so you never have to download it to your computer. This morning it caught an email with a virus, which McAfee would have caught, but it never even reached my computer, thanks to Mailwasher. Yes, there's an extra step, but it saves having to delete spam from your email software. The download is free. The author asks that you send payment in the form of " a tip " in the amount of your choice... if you like it.
