Guest guest
Hi there, We did valtrex then after a few months started chelation. We were with Dr. Bock. For us I think it was the right thing to do. I believe the decision was based on our titers. We contiued on with valtrex while chelating. Removing the metals and cleaning up the viruses at the same time. Guest guest
I would do neither first. First I would start iodine. Iodine deficiency creates a body unable to kill virus or excrete metals. A body unable to process the nutrients it's given. Weakens the immune system. Clogs the liver. Fix that and the body gets healthy. A healthy body can eliminate the virus, eliminate the metals. I agree with the signs and symptoms approach. And the do everything possible to heal the body so it works properly approach. Some of the things recommended by docs and others do not go that route. The goal is iodine sufficiency which will let the immune system (and all the other systems) work how it's suppose to. It wont happen overnight. The body takes several months at a fairly high dosage to become iodine sufficient. Longer at a lower dosage. Then still has to repair the damage from lifelong deficiency (be it 3 or 80 years old). The extent of that damage will determine what additional supplements are needed. Things that support the immune system, iodine and other nutritional supplements, work to provide the immune system with what it needs. Thats first. When that is accomplished there is no yeast or bugs or fungus. There still is the damage from the deficiency. So things that correct that damage are good. If a person is MB12 deficient when iodine is began they will still need the MB12 until healed. They will probably need gradualy less in time but it could take alot of time. No one knows yet, or at least i havent read they did. If a person has been unable to eliminate virus their entire lives, they will be harboring lots of virus. With iodine supplementation some are eliminated quickly, some require months and months of adequate nutrition and supplements to remove. If a person is doing well with Valtrex (or titers indicate a need or about to try) adding iodine doesnt mean stopping the Valtrex. Getting the virus and antibodies gone takes time, anything that helps accomplish this without destroying the bodys balance, as Valtrex does, means a faster recovery. With or without will accomplish the same thing, it's a matter of time. Can be very important in a child, not as detrimental in an adult (imo). Many adults see titers go down once on iodine for a few months, some have seen antibodies gone in a year or so. Thyroid and virus antibodies. The above 2 examples can be said for most anything for what you are using now that is working. Except antibiotics. Most Rx for that matter(my bias is showing again). Antibiotics abuse the immune system, actually several systems. You will never need another antibiotic if you have iodine. And you wont wipe out your entire body ecosystem taking it. Some of the things I see people giving others, even given myself in the past, makes me cringe. I do get the desperation to try anything. Everything. Been there done that more than once. If it builds and supports the immune system, the digestive system, the endocrine system, it's probably good. If it's giving the body what it naturally requires, it's probably good. If it wipes out the immune system, it's bad. If it strains an already overworked liver, it's bad. The supplements like Iodine, Mag, Vit C and Se , the B's, D3 and Natural Salt will most likely be needed for a lifetime. (We just dont have the food supply to sustain even a healthy human) Some may need Tyrosine, Thyroid hormone, Biodentical Hormones, Enzymes or Probiotics, to help fix the damage caused by the deficiency. We all need a healthy balanced diet. We all need exercise. Give the body its most basic needs, nutrients, Iodine being the most neglected and you will see the elimination of bugs and metals. You will see healthy begin to emerge. Guest guest
If you reduce the metals, let's say some oral EDTA then yeast won't grow back if you stop the Dyflucan. That's what my DAN doc says, basically support the methylation cycle with suppliments and then get rid of yeast and metals, then see if you even need the anti virals. Guest guest
I have posted before about how I can smell metal coming off my son when he chelates, but I haven't heard of anyone else experiencing that. I can smell it when he takes DMSA. We started iodine over three months ago and I noticed that he also smelled like metal after starting it. The one night he didn't smell was the day I had forgotten to give him his iodine. I did some research after that and found that iodine does chelate metal - including mercury. It sounds crazy, but his metallic smell recently changed from a " heavier, richer " metallic scent to a " lighter " one. I swear he is dumping a different metal now. (I have a very keen sense of smell.) My husband describes it more generically by saying he smells like a battery when he is dumping. It is always at the back of his skull at the top of his neck and is stronger after he sweats (obviously.) We just finished round 6 of DMSA and this time around it was oral rather than suppository. It was rougher because it did cause a yeast flare and he has had to be on Diflucan. Even on the Diflucan, he flares with each round and it takes a few days after the DMSA for him to settle back down. I told my husband that I think from here on out if we continue to chelate, I may want to go Cutler protocol. But I am tempted to just let the iodine do the job at this point. Chelation has been very good for him and I don't feel comfortable leaving the metal in his body, but I don't want him too uncomfortable with it coming out either. I am amazed that he can be dumping so much metal. He has dumped in the past with chelation, but he has been dumping non-stop since the beginning of November. Crazy. I was just thinking today about how much he SWEAT as a baby (symptom of mercury poisoning.) If I had only known then what I know now (well, before any of my children were born would be best, but...) It's late...I'm rambling...time for bed... > On Sat, Feb 12, 2011 at 11:11 AM, Cheryl wrote: > > > > > had previously gone > > thru AC Cutler chelation with some progress. Not alot of progress. Guest guest
Alberta The Amish Herbalist guy told me I can give Kelp orally as well as rubbing it on his feet and drops in his belly button--CRAZY! He said malachi needs it desperately for 5 months min. When he said that the thyroid is the root of my son's problems, I came home and was fascinated to find out how Iodine deficiency (or thyroid problems) will first display itself in the digestive process and weight gain/loss. My son had SEVERE reflux and didn't gain weight (failure to thrive at 3 months---still @ birth weight). Then I read about Iodine's ability to cleanse the blood of heavy metals and how it controls candida and I continually was amazed at how everything I read seemed to explain my son and HOW this happened (since he's not been vaccinated). Guest guest
Its a common misconception (that iodine is a chelator) and why i wanted to make sure. Half is a good easy dosage to start. If you cut it in half it will dissolve in the stomach not intestines. There is a coating that lets it pass into the intestines in tact. Some have a problem with too much iodine in the stomach at one time, so if there is upset might need to eat more food with it or space it out over 2 meals. like 1/4 a tablet at breakfast, the other at lunch. I am glad to see your Dan recommending it. The word is spreading! Cheryl > > Hi Cheryl, > > Oops, my bad. Yes, I know iodine is not by definition a chelator...I was very tired. Haha. > > Our DAN! ped. recommended half of an Iodoral per day. This particular son is 46 lbs. We also put our other son on Iodoral at the same dose and he is 50 lbs. The older son also chelated on DMSA and that was very good for him too, but he never smelled like metal and he also doesn't while on Iodoral. Maybe he is less metal toxic or maybe he just doesn't excrete as much through his pores/sweat as my younger son does. It does make me wonder if my younger son would benefit from some sort of therapy that makes him sweat a lot (in addition to normal exercise.) > >
Guest guest
Cheryl, Sorry for all of my questions but I started my three-year-old twins on lugols this week (today is day 3). I've been giving one drop in the morning. My question is, if I don't see any changes (altough I swear they are in better moods), should I just continue the one drop indefinitely, or should I gradually increase until I notice some sort of die off-type behaviors? I just want to know that I'm giving them enough to make a difference. I know I need to give it some time since it's only day three. I just want to know what my game plan should be from here. I thought maybe after this week, I would increase to two drops. Thanks for any advice. - Kirk- To: mb12 valtrex From: mossyforrest@...Date: Tue, 15 Feb 2011 02:41:50 +0000Subject: Re: Valtex or Chelation..what would you do first? Its a common misconception (that iodine is a chelator) and why i wanted to make sure. Half is a good easy dosage to start. If you cut it in half it will dissolve in the stomach not intestines. There is a coating that lets it pass into the intestines in tact. Some have a problem with too much iodine in the stomach at one time, so if there is upset might need to eat more food with it or space it out over 2 meals. like 1/4 a tablet at breakfast, the other at lunch. I am glad to see your Dan recommending it. The word is spreading! Cheryl >> Hi Cheryl,> > Oops, my bad. Yes, I know iodine is not by definition a chelator...I was very tired. The older son also chelated on DMSA and that was very good for him too, but he never smelled like metal and he also doesn't while on Iodoral. Maybe he is less metal toxic or maybe he just doesn't excrete as much through his pores/sweat as my younger son does. It does make me wonder if my younger son would benefit from some sort of therapy that makes him sweat a lot (in addition to normal exercise.)> >
Guest guest
Cheryl, Sorry for all of my questions but I started my three-year-old twins on lugols this week (today is day 3). Guest guest
Hi , I would increase to 2 drops after a week or 2. Then either stay at 2 for a while or go to 3 a week or so after using 2, with 1 to 2 drops max ingested, the rest transdermal. I think both ingested and the slow steady absorbtion of transdermal is better. Whether a person feels die off depends on how much and what is in their body and how good their liver and kidneys are at removing the toxins/dead stuff. It takes very little iodine to make a difference. Think of it as 2 sponges. On one, you drop one drop a day and it takes a year before the sponge is completely soaked. The other sponge you drop 5 drops a day and it takes 6 months to completely soak. It's a matter of time. The more iodine you take the more the body soaks and gets to saturation so that every cell in the body has enough. The balance of using enough to soak the " sponge " (body) but not enough to cause misery or too fast detox is the goal. Iodine is definetly a mood effector :-) Cheryl > > > Cheryl, > > Sorry for all of my questions but I started my three-year-old twins on lugols this week (today is day 3). Guest guest
Yes some are 5%Sent from my iPhone Cheryl,I had just picked up a lugol's solution from Medisca. It was the only one available from the store I was at. However, when I got home, I just noticed that it says it's for compounding. Is all lugol's solution 2%. This one doesn't state it on the bottle and I just did a quick google and I wasn't able to make heads or tails of the information given on their site. It just says it's a "strong iodine solution". Did I buy the wrong one? Or does this mean that there's higher than 2% iodine in there? The Lugols can be used Transdermally. It works out more expensively than ingesting because the uptake is only about 3/4mg per drop. So if you load a qtip with iodine and paint areas of the body you would be getting about 4mg per qtip. (My fuzzy math, definetly not 100% accurate, but dont really feel exact is necessary, close enough is good). Povidone, which you can get at most pharmacys can be used transdermally. Povidone is 1% iodine. Tinctures can be used transdermally but they are more drying cause of the alcohol. Povidone and tinctures should never be ingested. Cheryl > > > You should see the morning I am having. I actually managed to drink an entire cup of coffee and sit on the computer for an hour with no interruptions or fights. They woke up in awesome moods and have been playing nicely all morning. If this is from the iodine, I wish I had started earlier! Can you give me a link or the name of a transdermal product, and also tll me when I should apply, where (on the body), and how often? Thanks! You have been extremely helpful! > > > - Kirk- > >

Guest guest
I am treating a very suspicious skin spot and I started with the 2% tincture you can get at Walgreens. It definitely was working on the spot. It was also giving me a killer headache by the end of each day. So I ordered Lugol's solution and it works the same (better?) on the skin spot, but without the headache. I don't know why. The tincture is Iodine, alcohol, deionized water, and sodium iodine. The Lugol's is distilled water, potassium iodide, and iodine. I have read that people can get headaches using iodine, possibly from the displacement of bromide. I find it interesting that the Lugol's and Iodoral do not give me a headache, but the tincture does. I am not saying the Povidone would cause a headache. I have no idea. I guess I am just saying that different formulations may have different results, so if you try a transdermal type and seem to have less than favorable results you could always try a different one. It has been interesting to watch this skin lesion go through changes. I have been slow at treating it because it is on my back, near the center, under my brastrap. It is a bit difficult to reach by myself and my husband has been traveling a lot lately. Consequently I am only treating once a day when I should be treating it more often. I have been taking pictures of the process. > > > > > > You should see the morning I am having.
