Guest guest
Oh please we all NEED laughter! Before cancer I always told Phil unless the angel of death looks like (ironically the actors name was Dye) tell him I'm not interested! Even being a person of faith and knowing there is something better on the other side I'm with you it ain't over til it's over! Until then make every day count and pray for a time when our common bond will be that we BEAT this beast! I know that day is rapidly approaching and pray we will all be here to see it! Guest guest
All, Hopefully none of you will get mad if I venture into levity a bit, but I'll share a little bit of a funny story that relates to what we are all going through. I was thinking about it as I was replying to another post just before now. When I was in college, I played and managed hockey. We were in a pretty good league, the ECAC, and given my school's inability to recruit really good players, there were many games where we were behind. If you've ever been to a hockey game, there is a person who sits right behind each goal to judge whether or not shots go in. For our home games, one of them was a guy named Lenny. He used to come into the locker room in between periods and after games, kind of a groupee. If we were losing, somebody in the locker room would always say - " It isn't over until you see Lenny singing in the shower " , we'd all laugh a little, and go back out and try our hardest to win. So remember - it isn't over until you see Lenny singing in the shower. Joe
Guest guest
Aw Joe, we all so desperately need the humor. It kind of reminds me of the many cancer patients I used to see when I went with Bert or my mom for their chemo...for the most part they were all upbeat and laughing...some even joking that if the cancer don't get me, the chemo will. I was amazed at their attitude but then I figured it out...it really ain't over till the " fat lady sings " and considering the amount of weight I've gained since this whole roller coster ride started, I ain't singing yet :-) Hugs, Monika > All, > Hopefully none of you will get mad if I venture into levity a > bit, but I'll share a little bit of a funny story that relates to > what we are all going through.
