Guest guest
Rajeev This is interesting. You may need to talk to the director of transportation. I also live in California, in Ventura County. I live in Camarillo, and my daughter is districted out to Simi Valley School District. Since 1996, the contracted for school bus picks her up at my home and then drops her off at a day care close to my home. We have never had a problem with this. Actually we were in another district in the county, and the same thing...they picked her up at home and dropped her off elsewhere. It could be because you're not in the district boundaries. However, if this is a law, it's either a new one, or one specifically in your district. This is not a California law, that is for sure. Good Luck M. Now the school district tells me that transportation under law can only be provided to and from home. Is there any law or precedent I can cite to convince them otherwise? >
Guest guest
I have been dealing with the director of special education, who claims she has spoken with the director of transportation as well as the school district's attorney. Thanks for pointing this out, I could use you as a precedent - but I hope somebody else who knows the details responds, as I don't want to jeopardise your daughter's arrangement which might beyond what is the bare minimum required by law. What bothers me is why they are so adamant about this, since the bus goes almost right past the day care on the route to and from school. Rajeev RE: Digest Number 2097 Rajeev This is interesting.
