We saw our OS here in Vancouver today and he was quite impressed with

our new BHRs, although he still seems to feel that a thr is just as

good. He has recently started doing BHRs and still feels that way -

I don't get it, but am glad I made the choice I did in going to see

Koen.

Anyway as soon as we did that we sent straight to the rink and skated

for the first time. It felt a little strange to have my hip

straightened out and took a few minutes for it to feel comfortable on

the left side. BUT it got better and we managed a couple of the

higher level dances until friends told us we were causing them too

much stress - they didn't want to have to carry us back to Belgium for

a revision - I tried to tell them the chocolate would be worth it!!!

It was short but wonderful and I expect we will be back out again

tomorrow!

, thank you again for this wonderful site and to all who are so

inspirational and helpful here - a big hug.

To icedancer:

Have you been following the plight of top Russian skater ei Yagudin?

Just after I'd received my new resurfaced right hip, I watched from my

hospital bed as he withdrew from a competition due to a serious hip injury.

While he's now back in the game, suffering through each event, I heard he's

scheduled for surgery in the spring. Am wondering if as a skater you know

how to find out what kind of surgery he's going to have and how to get to

him/his coach to let them know about resurfacing. My fear is he will wind up

with a THR, if not in the spring, then at some point in the future. He is

too amazing to lose to the perils of a THR!

Maureen: We have sent ei a note suggesting he look into

resurfacing and directing him to Dr. De Smet's website. Don't know

if it will be what he needs, but if there's a chance at least he will

know about it.

Pamela:

Don't know how I missed your reply more than two weeks ago, but, anyway, I am

so glad you contacted ei. Please let me know if you hear from him or

anything about his plight.
