Pam,

You can go to your primary care physician or a urologist to get checked for a

urinary tract infection. All you have to do is give a sample of your urine.

Be sure to tell them you are pregnant since certain antiobiotics are harmful

to the fetus.

Take care,

Pam,

Or if your primary care group has an urgent care center. You can try that too

if you are miserable and cant wait to see your doc.

I was tested for a UTI at my last visit because of back pain, and it came back

negative. I could have SWORN it would come back positive, because I had the

pressure and the constant urge as well.

I didnt have any discharge though. Good luck to you.

There is also an OTC UTI test available, too. :o) I've never used

it...and wonder if a doctor would prescribe meds for a positive home

test?

Hi Pam,

I ended up with the UTI just a few weeks ago, about week 24 into my

pregnancy. I had discharge, but not the brown and red, but everyone

is different. The big symptom for me was pressure I felt in the

lower abdomen area, and the fatigue. I waited until I had a Dr.s appt

in about a week, and that was a mistake-by then I was not feeling

good at all. I would recommend getting in to the DR. right away to be

tested so you can start antibiotics. When I met with the NP, my

levels were quite high, and they were concerned that it may have

spread into the kidneys, which meant for me I would have had to be

hospitalized. My first dosage of antibiotics did not clear it up, so

I had to start another type. I would recommend getting it checked

out now based on my experience.
