Guest guest
I don't know what your dose is to be, but... Pets are people too! Especially if they are young, they need to be treated like children -- they do have thyroids and can get thyroid disease and thyroid cancer (a neighbor dog was dying of thyca a few months ago; she moved so I don't know how it went, or when). If your pet is even medium age you might want to avoid cuddling too much or sleeping together (especially if like some pets yours likes to sleep close to your face!). Also avoid handling areas that s/he licks a lot, the toys & chewies, the food.... By the way, what do you mean by " taking 123 several days " -- you mean more than one dose??? Being hypothyroid can make your cholesterol shoot up (your doctor should know that IMO) -- when I started meds after my RAI, my lipids even a few weeks later were still out of whack (worst I'd ever had), and even my pcp told me not to worry it was because of being still hypo. My numbers got back in line a few weeks later. Best wishes. bj RAI outpat./jaw pain? > Gearing up Fri. for my first RAI and I-131 scan.
