Guest guest
Made this tonight. It turned out pretty good. I thought it would taste too " milky " , but not at all. It's a good soup for WW because it sure gives you lots of veggies and milk servings :-) and it's low in points. I used fat free cheese, which never melts very well. So it would probably be better with real cheese, but oh well. Also, this is called a " chowder " but was more like a soup. Not thick like most chowders. 3/4 cup water 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 1/2 cups sliced carrots 1 1/2 cups chopped celery 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper 15 oz can whole kernel corn, drained 15 oz can cream style corn 3 cups milk (I used skim) 1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese (I used fat free) Combine water, onion, carrot, celery, salt and pepper in slow cooker. Cover. Cook on high 4-6 hours. Add corn, milk, and cheese. Heat on high 1 hour and then turn to low until ready to eat. Mine was a total of 21 points. Made 8 cups, so it was 2.6 points per cup. A good sized serving was 2 cups, so 5.2 points. Served it with crusty dinner rolls, which were 2 points per roll. ~~
