Guest guest
Hi Jenn- Many doctors say that the MRI is very accurate in determining what sort of tissue composes the septum. I think MRI is the only thing, besides hysteroscopy, that can give you an idea about this. Unfortunately none of the imaging techniques are 100% accurate, so MRIs are not always right. Last year I had an MRI that indicated that my septum had a good blood supply, and was likely to act like a BU and support a pregnancy, and therefore should not be removed. It turned out that this was NOT true, and I had my septum resected last week during hysteroscopy (and it did NOT have a good blood supply). Cheryl > > I had a HSG due to the U/s showing a BU? or something. The HSG > showed a definte septum but not what it was made of. So I am > schuduled for an MRI on Friday. Guest guest
Jenn, I had an HSG that intialled showed a UU, but could have been a SU or BU. I had the MRI and the results stated my uterus was UU with a " clearly defined septum. " My doctor never personally looked at the films and went on the word of the tech. I had the Lap\Hys, and woke up from surgery to find out I definately had a UU. I believe the MRI can be more accurate in determining the anamoly only if the tech\doctor is experienced. In my case the other side is a solid mass, which is what the tech was calling the septum. UU, PCOS ttc 3 years How truthful are the MRI results? I had a HSG due to the U/s showing a BU? or something. The HSG showed a definte septum but not what it was made of. So I am schuduled for an MRI on Friday. I was wondering if anyone has had good results from an MRI reading. My husband and I are very anxious to start trying and I hope I am not wasting my time just having these tests. Please respond. Thank you.
