Guest guest
Judy & , I don't know the answer to the question about stopping the minocin. I've read from some who have posted in the past that sometimes mycoplasma tests show positive after minocin is begun, even when there was not a positive test in the beginning. But I can't really say. Some others on this board may help you with this. About whether or not Medicaid will pay for the mycoplasma test, why not call them and ask. But, if you need IV's, it just might be wise to " bite the bullet " and pay for the test -- if necessary for you to pay -- and then the IV's (much higher than the test) probably will be covered if you have a positive test. bg > We started the minocin without being tested for the mycoplasma. We both are > now into 14 weeks of therapy on the minocin. Actually I doubt you would get dramatically worse in the month or so you needed to clear it out of system (unlike the metho I stopped). Where did you plan to get the testing done? Guest guest
Hi Judy and , Dr. Brown said that the antibiotic could be discontinued for up to four weeks without backsliding, so you should be OK.
