Guest guest
Hmmm.... Symptoms coincide with taking a new (or in this case) refill of a medication.... I'd certainly be suspicious of those pills! Doublecheck that you got the same dose. Ask the pharmacist about the bottle they came from. Request a replacement-refill from a different (new unopened) bottle. Best wishes. bj more tired 6 weeks after rai and starting meds. > i didn't have as bad a hypo experience as many people > had but now 6 weeks after starting synthroid i feel > more hypo than i did before.i don't know what tsh was > when i had rai but i was above 70 2 weeks before. i > was starting to feel better up until about a week ago > when i started feeling really tired more than pre rai > but not as tired as immediately after rai. has anyone > else experienced this? i will call endo on monday to > discuss with him.i am taking synthroid the same way as > i have always taken it.my prescription was refilled > about 10 days ago and i'm wondering iof new synthroid > is bad. barbara >

It takes awhile (and " awhile " varies from person to person) to get your meds regulated. You should be having a blood test in the next few weeks (6-8 weeks after starting meds) to see what your TSH level is, so your doctor can adjust your dose as needed. I don't think it likely that you'd be feeling the effects a bad batch of synthroid within 10 days of starting it. I suppose that some of the older batch COULD have been bad, but my bet is that's not the case. It would be more suspect if you'd been suppressed for months or years, and THEN started having problems. Certainly, talk to your endo, but I'd give it more time. Patience is something we thycans really need to have. As soon as your doc checks your TSH, you will know for sure what is happening. I'm thinking though, that since you were feeling okay and now worse, you *may* be too hyper. Only your bloodwork knows 4 sure. Last week, I had my dose lowered and the mild insomnia and heart skips have resolved already. Hang in there. Sometimes it takes a fine tuning of meds to feel just right. in NE OH

We all had different (all good, I think) ideas of what COULD be going on. I think it points out that feeling tired can be the result of a lot of different things - and it may not even have anything to do with your T4 levels or your TSH. Your iron levels may be low, as just one other possibility (just to add something else to the mix). Cheers, Alisa
