Guest guest
Joan - Stress is always a possible cause for hair loss, but also, odd as it may seem, 3 months after RAI is not so unusual for some hair problems to show up. You WON'T go bald. Really. Fluctuating hormones play a big part in hair loss, which includes not only being hypo, but also returning to normal. from Synthroid prescribing info: " Partial hair loss may occur during the initial months of therapy, but is generally transient. The incidence of continued hair loss is unknown. " from Unithroid prescribing info: " Adverse reactions associated with levothyroxine therapy are primarily those of hyperthyroidism due to therapeutic overdosage. They include .......: hair loss; [... and....] .... Partial hair loss may occur rarely during the first few months of UNITHROID therapy, but this is usually temporary. " http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Thyca/message/19601 Good luck, and please keep us posted - BTW - in re: the new endo, you've probably already done this, but you might want to ask his/her office to call you if they have a cancellation sooner than your appointment.
