Hello All,

I've just joined the group, but am not new to AFib. I've had it for

years and I finally had it during the day about 5 years ago. I got

to the doctor when it was happening and for the FIRST time the

doctor finally believed me. He put me in the hospital and they

monitored me, but did nothing but give me Warfarin which made me

unable to care for myself. I slept all day and didn't have the

strength to move off the sofa.

I continued this way for 9 months and finally had enough sense to go

to Little Rock Heart Association and was prescribed with new

medication that has helped me tremendously. Trandolapril (Mavik),

and Amiodarone HCL.

I used to have AF attacks three or four times A DAY. Now I have

them maybe maybe once a week; normally after I exert myself in any

way -- climbing stairs will always bring on AF.
