Guest guest
Hi Joan, I was diagnosed with colon cancer in March. The surgeons removed about 2/3's of my colon on March 9th. My recovery was slow, and is still slow due to my having been in very bad shape before the surgery. They removed 2 tumors, and I now have a permenent colostomy (which I am still having problems adjusting to). My surgery actually went well, not too much misery/pain - although I had a reaction to the first pain meds they gave me. After the first week I only took ibuprophen or tylenol. I'm due to begin chemo in a few more weeks. As for the abscess... I was fine - but long ago when I had my babies via C-section I had a staph infection both times in the incision. I can understand your pain with the abcess. How are you treating it? Have you tried peroxide on it? I used to have to rinse out my infections with peroxide and then bandage it. Plus - had to take pain pills and antibiotics for awhile. Theresa > Hi, I'm joan I was diagnosed with col0n cancer in jan.
