Guest guest
Lukewarm baths, vicks vaporub and when the temp gets high enough to be concerning, we use tylenol suppositories (though it's a very rare event in our house). They're available behind the counter of any pharmacy, don't need a prescription, just ask for them. Give the pharmacist the child's weight and they can give you the appropriate dosaging. I have the generics and the only ingredients are acetaminophen and hydrogenated vegetable oil. I think it was $3-4 for a dozen of them. As an FYI, the veg. oil is considered " inert, " that is, it is not appreciably absorbed/metabolized, therefore no bowel changes, etc. to worry about. As a general rule, a fever is not a problem, it's the body's way of fighting infection. Unless it gets too high or lasts too long, it really doesn't need treating with anything other than fluids and rest. Hope this helps! Anne > Hi- > What do you give when your kid has a temperature?
