Guest guest
Hi I'm new to the group and thought I'd introduce myself and ask a couple of questions. I was diagnosed with Graves over 2 years ago and have a course of Carbimazole plus replacement thyroxine for 7 months then came off it and things seemed okay. In May this year I felt bad and after a blood test found my tsh had dropped below 0.1. The consultant recommended RAI as this was my second episode, and I'm scheduled to have it in 10 days. I guess I'd like to ask others here if there is anything I need to do to get myself ready, and what can I expect once I've had the treatment. My main symptons are fatigue, and I've been on the steroids for 4 months now plus 125 ug of thyroxine, and my tsh has stabilised at about 0.3, and my free T4 is 20. I still get these periodic bouts of fatigue lasting a few days. Work has been great, but I'd like to provide them with some medical information so they know what to expect post RAI. My boss seems to think things will be fixed afterwards and I know that it won't be the case. Anyway thanks for listening, Rod
