Guest guest
Hi Caroline - What a wonderful story, congratulations on the adoption of your son and on your pregnancy, I hope everything goes smoothly. You are a very fortunate woman! Your story touches me quite closely - after 3 years ttc my DH and I initiated adoption procedures from Russia (I lived in Russia for years in my 20s, it was the natural choice). Just before we expected our referral I got pregnant - naturally as well, no IVF or fertility drugs - what a shocker! As we had not yet had a referral we decided to put the adoption on hold and see how the pregnancy progressed (I have a complete SU unresected, so we knew about the high miscarriage rate). This was actually quite a difficult choice, as (I'm sure you understand) we were completely committed at that point to adoption and were so excited to get our referral. Adoption or pregnancy were both great options for us, one wasn't better or preferred over the other and adopting just seemed so right. In any case, the pregnancy did go well and I had a beautiful daughter this past July. Her name is Zoya, the Russian version of Zoe - so her Russian name will hopefully go very well with the name of her future adopted sibling - we still hope to adopt from Russia, but we'll probably wait another 2 years or so. The wait is difficult, as part of me still feels like we have a child in Russia ... . Thanks for much for your story, it makes me so happy and I'm thrilled for you. An embarrasment of riches for sure. Take care and enjoy (and gets lots of help -- you will be busy ! a 35 Complete SU DD Zoya 5 months old

Guest guest
Congratulations on your son and on your pregnancy. When do you get to go back for trip two and get your son? Do you have dates yet? We adopted our daughter at age three from Kazakhstan last fall and she has been an indescribeable blessing. We are now pregnant with number two. I am 17 weeks now and we're all thrilled. I love to read about other families adopting because it has just really made our lives so much more than they ever would have been.
