Hi, Pam -

A Nuclear Medicine Dr, because they deal with the Radioactive iodine

we are treated with, while a Radiation Oncologist works with the more

traditional radiation therapy that other cancer patients receive.

Most of us never see oncologists - which confuses people who hear you

have cancer - my family's first question was whether I had an

appointment with an oncologist.

Your Endo should coordinate this for you with the hospital. Some

Endos work directly with the Nuclear Med dept - others turn you over

to them for this phase of the treatment.

Cheers,

Alisa
