Guest guest
I would imagine the radioactive oncologist handles cancer treatments only. A nuclear med doctor gets into other areas of treatment that use radioactive materials, such as scans, but do not necessarily involve cancer. My endo, in conjunction with my surgeon, determined my dosage. My nuclear med doctor was in charge of the radiation dept at the hospital where I had my scan, as well as part of the doctors' practice I go to. He did my last ultra scan biopsy. So I guess you would say he was the hands-on person, but my endo called the shots. Before he went into nuclear medicine exclusively, he was the endo who I first saw after being diagnosed with diabetes.
