Guest guest
Hi - welcome to the group A good rule of thumb is to take all supplements etc. at least two hours away from the minocycline, preferably more. So, for instance, if you take minocycline in the morning, take the supplements at night. If you take minocycline morning and evening, take the supplements at lunchtime. Guest guest
T. Lynn, I have just added Olive Leaf Extract to my supplement regimen -- the Seagate brand reported on recently where Dr. Franco used it for a 60+ year old patient with three strains of mycoplasma. The dosage, I believe, was two capsules after meals 3xday. It was reported that in 3-1/2 months, none of the three strains could be detected. All of this is documented and reported on in: Olive Leaf Extract as a Main Therapy in the Antimicrobial Supermarket. > > http://www.findarticles.com/m0ISW/2001_May/73959334/p1/article.jhtml > > Also, discussed was the usual type of processing of OLE and Seagate's method of leaving the leaves whole/intact and not standardizing. Usually standardizing is thought to be a " good " thing, but not with olive leaf extract. Other maladies are reported on in this series of articles, i.e., psychological problems, gastrointestinal disease, and more. I ordered two directly from Seagate when I did a search on the Internet. The cost from them is $29.00 each, plus $4.00 S & H (S & H remains $4 regardless of number of bottles). The mg's on this brand are much greater than on a Solaray brand I looked at. With the purchase of 6 or more, there is a 10% discount. My AP physician copied the material. About taking OLE and/or Minocycline, he felt both could be taken, though spaced away from each other. It would be interesting to know what Dr. Franco and Dr. (the author of the book referenced in the studies) think about this question. If any of us find out, please post it to the board, ok? Before I started AP five years ago, I had used Grapefruit Seed Extract with excellent results for head/sinus congestion caused from a 2-year experience from a serious infection. I, too, would need more information about taking this one while taking minocycline, for I'd be concerned about its blocking the effectiveness of AP, since hearing about fresh grapefruit being a problem with other pharmaceutical medicine. I don't believe there would be a problem on days when AP was not used. Ethel? Anyone? Can you help us here? Best, bg > Hello, new to the group, AP for couple months now.
