Guest guest
Hey Everyone - All you mamma hens would be very proud of this myo chick! I was very honest w/my Rheumy about working the 6hr day. I told her it was kinda kicking my butt. I also told her that I reduced my pred to 20/10 from 30/10. She was like....hmmmmmm so how have you been feeling? I told her I was achy, gained 5 lbs w/out blinking and was tired most of the time. Well she said that since I didn't seem to be extra tired at the end of the week and it was more of a day to day thing that I could try working a 4-day week at full time with a day off in mid week. And she also said that the weight gain was probably do to snacking at the office. Egads!!! We have this great refrigerator at the office with cookies and chocolate and soda and water. I thought I was doing well, but I have been snacking. So much for that treat. Also she said that the aches/pains could be from the pred reduction but not because my adrenals were kicking back in. She said that doesn't happen until you get under 10mgs. Supposedely that's how much our body produces normally but every once in awhile you can have someone whose adrenals produce more naturally. But she doesn't think that is the case with me. So her plan is to move me to 15 mg daily of pred no more alternate days. Then have me take it only every other day. She prefers patients to be able to flush the pred out of their system to help with eventually stopping altogether. Then she also wants to be able to lower my methx while lowering my pred. But she will wait another month before thinking about that. She was also not happy with the weight gain at all. She said cut out the snacks......try eating low-cal stuff and to read the labels on things. She also gave me the OK to take glucosamine & chondritin. And best of all......she wants me to keep monitoring my glucose to see if I can stop taking the glucovance altogether. Yippee!!!! Hopefully one less pill to take.....only to be replaced with glucosamine/chrondritin. Well I would rather take vitamins/supplements than medicine any day. Well tomorrow my neighbor and I are going to the East Bay to see the ish Games. They have sheep dog trials that sound really cool. We thought it would be something different to do. I will tell you all about it when I get back. Don't worry...bringing sun block, sun hat, wearing long sleeves and bringing tons of water. It should be fun. Have a happy weekend everyone!!
