Hello all, I want to ask you all a question about learning issues. My son is 8

years old, the one with charge, and has trouble carrying information over from

one day, one week, one month, one year later. He appears to totally get it one

day and then it is a huge struggle the next. It deals with reading mostly, but

sometimes math. I just don't know how to handle this. I have been working with

the same special ed teacher for the last 4 years, and she also sees the same

thing in class. She doesn't understand it either. So I thought I would try all

of you. Please, if any of you have experienced this or can relate or have any

ideas, please, please let me know. Thanks!

(A brief history of us. My name is Kim, husband-Craig, 9 yo daughter

Raychel, Tyler- 8 yo (charger) and 21 month old son, . My son, Tyler, has

CHARGE, he had a trach for almost 2 years and a GT. Now he is doing very well.

He is in a typical 2nd grade classroom, wears bilateral hearing aides (which

brings his hearing loss to only 15 dB), also wears glasses for nearsightedness.

We had heart surgery this last August for the first time, but medically is doing

extremely well. In school, no longer qualifies for services under

developmental delays, only hard of hearing. We have had a long journey, but

seem to really be struggling with reading right now. We live in MN. We used to

be actively involved with this site, but lost touch over the years. Thanks for

listening)
