Guest guest
Hi there. I'm currently taking 32.5mcg of cytomel, divided into 5 doses, including bedtime. And 3/4 grain NT, just down from 1 grain. (I tried to go off NT cold turkey and it was HELLISH for me. I've posted about it before. So, I'm having to do it this way.) I'm shooting to go off the NT altogether and raise my cytomel gradually. My pulse has consistently averaged 57. I took it this morning and it went up to 69 for a bit and then down to 60 again. I know 69 sounds low, but that's high for me. It almost feels jittery (yet I remain fatigued and brain fogged out of my mind to the point I can hardly work, literally). I just switched from generic T3 to brand Cytomel (per advice on this list) and also raised it 6.25mg two days ago. I slept well last night. I haven't taken my temps in a few days. They run in the 97s, but got up to 98 the other day. QUESTION: Is the jump in pulse - still being on such a relatively low dose of Cytomel, compared to getting up to the 75mcg to clear RT3 - telling me something, or a bad sign, or just par for the course?! I want to make sure I'm understanding my body's signals and do not want to blow out my adrenals, which run high cortisol. I have labs below that Val has looked at, but included them in case that helps answer this question. Also, I'm taking the Cytomel orally. (though taking my NT sublingually!) QUESTION: Is it better to take it sublingually, and since I've been doing it orally, will it impact me? Thanks for your help. Hope everyone is doing okay (well, better than okay, but at least okay!) ~ Carol fyi, most recent labs: 10/09 – serum – on 2 grains NT • FT3: 331 (range: 230-420) pretty high for me! • FT4: 1.1 (range: 0.8-1.8) • RT3: 28 (range: 11-32) • FT3/RT3 ratio: 11 (optimal: 20) • TSH: .06 (range: .40 – 4.50) • Ferritin: 88 (was 6, got up to 130 with 5 rounds IV iron 4 months ago, so it's dropping.) • Cortisol was super high, but don't have money to test right now, though I've been treating it and it feels much better, symptom-wise)
Guest guest
Thanks much, Nick. Hope you're doing well. I am absolutely going to get more T3 in me - just don't want to do much too fast! (btw, it's afternoon, and now i'm crashed and my pulse is 63 and my mood is bad, though it was great in the morning and I nearly had energy! not sure what that up and down is about. i'm dosing 5 times per day.) I might start taking the cytomel sublingually, as my ferritin is dropping, though still in range, and I want to take iron and keep it up before it gets too low. Have no idea why it's dropping, but it is. I think Val one time mentioned to someone else how if you're too hypo you can't hold ferritin. Not sure, though. (btw, I refer to the RT3 site a LOT, to make sure I'm not asking a question that's on there. Great to refer to.) > > >QUESTION: Is the jump in pulse - still being on such a relatively low dose of Cytomel, compared to getting up to the 75mcg to clear RT3 - telling me something, or a bad sign, or just par for the course?!
