Guest guest
Click here: Little Miracle - Emma Hi! Well, here is the link! I'm sorry it took me so long to post it, but I'm sure you girls understand! I can't believe that Emma is almost a week old already! It's gone by so fast. Ok, so I'll start at the beginning. Last Friday I went into the hospital to get induced. I had to be there at noon. When I got there all the room were full and I was not happy! I was just waiting for them to send me home. Instead they had me sit in the waiting room for abut an hour and then took us back to our room. At our hospital, they have several different rooms. The most coveted being the ABC room (alternative birthing center). It has EVERYTHING in it! Well, I lucked out and got it by default! So, that compensated for the hour wait we had. So, after I got checked into my room, they hooked up the pitocen IV and checked. I was still 3cm dilated and was 80% effaced. My Dr. came in at 2:30 and broke my water. But, actually it didn't break. But we didn't know that then. So, basically I sat there for about another hour and kept getting checked and stuff. Nothing really was happening. Then at 4pm my nurse had the Dr. come back in and he rechecked me and broke my water. Apparently, I have a weird cervix and it was hard to get to the bag of water. Anyway, after that was done, it was 4pm. I went in to instant labor! I mean, for 2.5 hours I'd been in there doing nothing and immediately after breaking my water, the labor was intense! About 4:30 the gave me a shot of nubain, which helped me relax a bit. The next time they check me I was 6cm and was told I could have the epidural. That was 5pm. The guy who did my epidural was wonderful! I didn't feel a thing and he was in and out within 5 minutes. After I got the epidural, I went from 6 to 10 cm in an hour. I was ready to push by a few minutes after 6,but my Dr wasn't there yet! Not pushing was the hardest thing! I can't believe I was able to breathe through the contractions until he go there. So, I started pushing at 6:40 and she was born at 7:05. It was a wonderful experience! I can't even put it into words! It was the greatest thing in the world to deliver that sweet little thing and have them lay her on my chest. I can't tell you how that felt! I'm still on cloud nine! I wanted to get this much posted... she's needing to be fed right now. I'll post more as soon as I can! Love you all!
