Guest guest
Hi, I remember how hard it was to do SCD in the beginning and my heart goes out to you when your child is sick. I found it helpful to cook a bunch of SCD recipes before we started so I had an idea of what my family would eat while on SCD. It took us at least a month of strict, no infraction SCD to get even small results. My daughter's healing was gradual and for the first three months her diet was so limited. It seemed like it took forever for us to even be able to add some of the legal on SCD but harder to digest foods. (ie grapes, apples with skins, etc.) Now her diet choices are huge within SCD. I can't begin to predict what will be best for your child but I do encourage you to give this a real shot with no infractions. The difference in my daughter's health is amazing. Weight gain, solid stools, no hair loss, no bruising, migraines gone down from 3 to 4 a week to maybe one every month or so. Even her temper has improved greatly. Good luck with what you decide. , Mom to IBD daughter, age 9, whole family SCD 11/03, other daughters ages 12 and
