Guest guest
Just wondering if you feel the precautions for a larger 5mCi scan dose are similar to that of that for a 2mCi one. I know they're both pretty small doses that don't need much done. I tried to keep some distance between me and others yesterday (probably overkill), but am not concerned about that today. Just to really be on the safe side, I slept in a separate bed last night, though I doubt it was necessary, given that most (if not all) of my thyroid is probably ablated. I plan to use a different bathroom for about 2-3 days, since we have 2, and have covered the phones I'm using exclusively with a plastic bag to keep my saliva off them, since we both use them normally (I figure it's easier than washing them later), for the same period of time. Of course, I'm not cooking for anyone but me, am putting all my dishes in the dishwasher, washing my hands any time I use the toilet, stick my fingers in my mouth, or blow my nose, and (again maybe over cautious), wearing plastic gloves if I handle food that my husband may also touch. I haven't been concerned about touching anything else, like door handles or even clean dishes - I know perspiration's not really hot, and I'm not perspiring anyway, being cold all the time :-)). And I'm not spitting, sneezing or coughing on anyone (a good thing at any time :-)) I should point out that this DOES have some benefits. I told hy husband that if he's not nice to me, I'll lick the chocolate cake so he can't have any (hey, it used to work when my older brother did it, and he wasn't even radioactive :-)) Oh, and I'm staying away from airports, and Penn Station in NY. :-) Thanks!
