My myxedema is mostly on my thighs, back and upper arms. It is weird that I

cannot pinch the skin there as it comes up very thick. My skin is not the same

as the rest of my family.

I had hoped the myxedema would be gone by now, but I still have it with it

despite being on 100 mcg T3 for several months.

One other thing, I could not get my temps normalized and have been

struggling with what to do. Every time I increased past 100 mcg T3,

I would get the wired, racy feeling. My HC dose is stable at

37.5 mg. So yesterday, I tried dividing my doses of T3 even smaller, as in 12.5

mcg per dose.

It has helped now, as I had a 98.5 temp twice yesterday. I guess having weak

adrenals for over 20 years contributes to this problem as well as being at Stage

4 when I started this process.

I am very thankful for the continuing help of this forum as I would

be totally bedridden without it!! Thank you Nick and .

Deb it is possible your HC dose isnow too high. Once RT3 clears OFTEN

you ewill need to reduce HC to get the thyroid working effectively. RT3

causes major adrenal stress and once it is gone the HC needs can drop

dramatically and so fast we go directly from low cort symtpoms to high

and can;t tell the differnce, High cortios also causes that edemous

feeling to the skin.

but I have low cortisol and suffered terribly with the edema all over. No its still a fight to keep it down. my estrogen causes it, and some how low pottassium or sodium too.

Val,

Can there be mixed high and low cortisol at different points? Or would that

point to now being Stage 3 or 2? I definitely cannot go

off to test, though.

Thanks for the reply. I will try to go to every 4 hr.dosing. But I

still have low cortisol symptoms at times. A very distinct symptom for me is

getting a song stuck in my head, which goes away with a

HC dose. Happened yesterday and then early this morning.

I also suspect Diabetes Insipidus and am going to a doc

next week, so this may be throwing things off.

This stuff is so complicated. As I look back over old labs, I see

warning signs which weren't heeded by my doc because of " being in range " and I

only know now from what you have shared (i.e. potassium of 135, glucose of 64 at

several points) that these aren't good.

Thanks again, Deb in MI

Absolutely! It is a type of OCD the same as causes counting. Whihc I did

for MNAY years. I always knew how many steps were pon any building that

I used that had them, as well as how many side walk squares there were

betwen any two points I walked. LOL I woudl even ocunt the dashed lines

on the highway when I could keep up wiht it! There is a tyoe of seizure

that is coneected to lwo T3 as well than many of us have and are nto

even aware. It is where your eyes lock on an area, nothing in particular

and slightly out of focus btu ti is next to impossible to move your

eyes. I used to get that while DRIVING!
