Guest guest
Does Dr. Ponsetti take measurements of the babies legs, calves, feet, etc? When you have checkups, do they measure the shoulders, bar, etc? All this discussion about the bars being to big or to small have motivated me. I finally measured Zoe's shoulders and the distance between the heels. Her shoulders are 8 " and her heels are 6 " apart. She has been in this 10 " bar for about 7 months. Two months ago, at a checkup, I asked the doc if the bar might be getting too short. She said no. We just had her checkup on Mon. The doc didn't even look at her shoes and bar. We had just changed to a bigger size, so I asked if the angles were okay, and she glanced at them and said yes. (We've had problems in the past with her non-clubfoot being at the wrong angle for months...) I e-mailed the cast tech to ask if we could get a bigger bar because of the discrepancy between the shoulders and heels. I also asked if we could get an adjustable bar. He said she should have a new bar, but he didn't say anything about if it could be an adjustable bar. Should I just go ahead and get one? I'm a bit frustrated by all this. I just sent Dr. Herzenberg a brief e-mail asking for a second opinion... Will keep you posted. Thanks for all your support recently.
