Stretch marks occur when the tissue under your skin tears from rapid growth or stretching. When the skin is over-stretched, it produces too much collagen, which can form the " scars " called stretch marks. Although short of microdermabrasion there is nothing we can do to eliminate stretch marks once we have them eating well, exercising and losing the weight that caused them (although growth spurts in teen years commonly cause them also even without weight gain) can go a longgggggggg way towards making them far less noticeable!!
