Guest guest
OK .......... I'm going to be the " odd man/woman out " here ..... but there is ONE good point made by this man's post, that some may not have been aware of. I only mention this because I've seen people need and use this before. (Being and ex-insurance agent for employee benefits) If any of us fighting this disease were to be in need of cash ...... whether that be for treatment, to take a nice family vacation with our loved one, etc. ......... it is important to KNOW that this is a valid option. There are some life policies that provide within them the opportunity to access some of the face value if diagnosed with a life threatening illness. But for those with older policies, it COULD be helpful to know that there are companies out there (and you can find them on the web or check with your local bank) that will basically " loan " you money against your life insurance policy so that you may use that money for things you need now. I'm not saying what he put on this board was done in an upfront or tactful manner ........ but I can see that there could be someone on this board who wasn't aware they had that option should they get in a bind or desire to share special moments (like a vacation they couldn't otherwise afford) with their loved one. OK ....... that's all I'll say about that. ) Kindest Regards, Donna Sisco S/O Rick, 50, Arkansas 09/19/02 - Diag. Stage IV Colon Cancer with 6 of 6 Pos.
