Bree: I dont know if you have had children before the hysterectomy, but if not,

and you want to talk about infertility, I am here -- and I am " there, " i.e.

infertile. The good side is I havent used birth control in 3 decades! But even

before being diagnosed with breast cancer, I suffered from infertility, had

tests, treatments, etc. I havent had anyone to talk about this with myself --

hummm, that is interesting, I guess! We can e off-list if you'd like.

The Whole Brain Game -- It's Not What You Think But How You Think It

Hi, I have some questions I guess, I have had pain on my right breast,

and the Physican Assistant, felt and said I had optic changes on both

of them, but said if it was cancer it would not be painful right now,

so not to worry, but I can't wrapp my mind around it, and wonder if I

should be worried, she wants me to have no caffine, and no chocolate,

and if there is no change then she will do a mammogram, but honestly

im a bit scared breast cancer runs in my family, I have had cervical

cancer already, and a hyster at 25, im 30 now, so any information

would be a great help please..

Bree/scared patient..

,

I too have been thru to whole gamut of infertility treatments etc. (I

finally adopted!) I've often wondered how all those hormones etc,

affected me. Did it contribute to my getting BC? Deep in my heart,

I'm betting it did.

Lynn, there are a lot of things that contribute to getting BC. Don't be fooled if you have estrogen receptive BC that it might be because you took hormones to try and get pregnant. Have you ever heated food in plastic, cooked a chicken or turkey in one of those handy bags? Do you know that plastic is made of petroleum and petroleum has synthetic estrogens in it and when you heat food up in plastic that the chemicals that make up the plastic can and do leak into the food. Do you drink from plastic water bottles? How long have those bottles been sitting on the delivery truck out in the hot sun on a 100 degree day just bleeding chemicals into the water you drink? And that is just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many ways we put synthetic estrogens into our body without even knowing it. So don't blame the infertility drugs. I took a few for all of a month and I can damn near guarantee you that that's not what caused me to have BC.

Hi Bree,

Mine hurt too, thats why I insisted they check, sure enoungh it was cancer! Don't wait insist they do a biopsy and remove it! That is the only real way you are sure.

Hi Bree and welcome to the group. Although most tumors are not painful there are ladies in the group that have found theirs due to having pain. Caffeine CAN cause problems. I would not wait more than a few weeks at most. I would also insist on talking to your doctor and not the assistant especially seeing that you had members in your family that have had breast cancer and also since you have had cervical cancer. If need be get a second opinion. I will keep you in my prayers.

Seeing that there is a family history of breast cancer you should definitely have a mammogram. Our daughters dr started her at age 30 because of my diagnosis.
