Guest guest
Welcome Beth, What is Zachary's diagnosis? You don't need to be afraid of the diet. There are things you must learn to prepare his foods and I'm sure Carolinas will train you. We are here to support you daily so please ask any questions. www.discountscales.com Buy a scale that weighs to the 10th of a gram. We use the OHaus SC200. Stock up on little plastic bowls and small rubber spatulas. You will be able to use pure spices non-iodized salt, and imitation flavor extracts. Saccharine is the safest sweetener, but many on the diet use Stevia or Splenda. Your hospital dietician will tell you what she recommends for Zachary. Best wishes, Ann Shepard Another Newbie My son, Zachary is 4 and has a 4 year hx of seizures - totally uncontrolled by meds. We are schedule to go to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC on Feb 9 for induction to ketogenic diet. Hopkins could not see us until APRIL. Guest guest
Welcome Beth - I'm not too far away from you - Knoxville, TN. Glad to have you here. I agree, don't be afraid of the diet. You'll learn TONS - but, hey I think this is a SUPER interesting treatment (even if it hadn't been a miracle for us). It's cool. Makes no sense, but can work like a charm. Hang around & ask lots of questions. Kathy - Mom to - keto since 02/00 On Thu, 22 Jan 2004 14:35:59 -0600 " Ann Shepard " writes: > Welcome Beth, > > What is Zachary's diagnosis?
