New to the Group

Hello Everyone!

I'm new to this group and I'm not really sure where to start! I have

my paperwork from my doctor and I need to set up my phone

consultation. I posted (twice) to the Database for a partner in

August of 2003. Our anniversary is the 11th, hoping to do it around

then. How do I get messages to the other party?

Had a tubal in 1998, we've been checking into to having this reversed

for two years. I'm so afraid that it can't be done. I dare to dream

of another child. I know of someone whose tubes where so damaged

that they couldn't be repaired, that side-lined us for awhile. My

husband is afraid to get his hopes up.

Any tips or words of encouragement would be wonderful! Thanks!

Hi Vicki - I know exactly how you feel. I went for a TR and was sent

home after lapo didn't look good. It took us almost two years to

revisit the issue. Now I'm searching for a very experience DR. Keep

us posted.

I'm also new to the group, my tubes were on the short side and my srgery was 90%

successful on 3/28/03, yes that means I'm only 3 wks post-op. Depending on where

you live, some health insurances pay 100% for the surgery, Thank god my DH did.

Oh, goodness, I know there is hope! Dr. Levin has told me multiple times that

4 and above is excellent for conception to occur. I have good hormone levels

and regular cycles. Right now the only downfall that we know of, notice I said

that we know of???, is that I have one tube and two ovaries. That means that

any time that my right ovary releases an ovum I am out of the running, for the

most part, for that month. Just have to be patient and keep on keeping on!

Welcome to the group. There are lots of other books that will help you too.

Also, check out the code words list (I don't remember how you access it) so

that you know the secret jargon of being a KO (Kid of a person with BPD).

I hope you find lots of hope and healing here.

Welcome to the Group, lex, you and all other new members. Yes, what you are

describing sounds all too familiar, unfortunately. Its good to find other

people who have experienced similar dysfunctional, frightening, manipulative

behaviors from personality-disordered parents.

In addition to reading SWOE, I recommend " Surviving A Borderline Parent " and

" Understanding The Borderline Mother. "

Each of us has both the power and the right to decide how much if any contact we

can tolerate having with a personality disordered parent or family of origin,

and its a very personal and individual choice, deciding what approach works for

you. Its really comforting to have others on that journey with us who " get

it. "

> I am in the middle of reading Stop Walking on Eggshells, and found info about

this group. I am so thankful to read the messages from everyone, and realize

that I am not alone. I just recently heard about BPD from a family friend who

is a psychologist. For awhile, I thought my mom was Bi-polar, but I believe now

that she definitely has BPD.

>

> I don't even know where to start about my mom. I've been on this

rollercoaster ride for as long as I can remember. I guess, for now, I can start

with the latest event. My parents live in NJ. I lived with them until I got

married almost 7 years ago, and moved to California right after the wedding.

Going back home for summer visits is always eventful, but this past July, after

another fight about some trivial thing, my mom took a bunch of pills and ended

up in the hospital saying that she wanted to die, and was trying to kill

herself. While on suicide watch, she continued to tell me and my father that

she was going to kill herself as soon as she left the hospital. I didn't know

what to do. I tried to contact the hopsital psychiatrist, and tell him about my

mom. But of course by the time he met with her, 3 days later, she was back to

her " normal " charming self, and telling everyone that she wasn't trying to kill

herself, and wondering what she was even doing in the hospital at all. After

seeing her for a few minutes, the doctor released her. It was so frustrating

for me and my siblings. We finally thought she would get some help.

>

> Of course she became angry about the whole situation, and started to take it

out on me. The anxiety and stress for me was so bad, that I lied to her and

told her that I was taking an earlier flight back to LA, and ended up hiding out

in Jersey at friends' houses, until I left. My father told me that she started

crying, because I didn't see her before I left.

>

> Now I am back in California, and of course, everyone acts as if nothing

happened. I am so tired and frustrated. I am thankful for finding out about

this group. I think it will help me. I hope.

Hello,

My name is and thank you for accepting my group request.

My daughter is 10 yrs old and has autism. We started gfcf when my daughter was 7

and saw improvement in behavior. During that year, I visited the ARI site and

saw Baxter's story and decided to do the DAN! protocol. For us, it did not work

so I swtiched to the AC protocol; we are now on round #76. We saw great gains

from #1 -#20 then they became slow and/or steady. When we first started my

daughter was diagnosed with severe autism (one specialist was convinced she had

" regressed to MR " ???). to look at my daughter today, you would not think she

had autism until she started to speak; depending on the skillset, she is between

3yr old to 6 yr old (when we started 3 yrs ago, she was 12 month old with all

skillsets).

Right now, I believe that I have to do more than chelation and therapy to help

my daughter recover because of where we started. Along with chelation, I have

done a parasite cleanse which really, really helped with yeast. We are currently

in our 3rd month of MB12 shots; I haven't seen anything from this yet but I

promised to try for 6 months so will continue until then.

I am very interested in the antiviral protocol; when my daughter gets a fever,

she becomes very " normal " . I have read some use valtrex, virastop, OLE, etc. I

have tried Virastop a couple of times in the past but my daughter gets a fever

on just 1/2 cap. I tried to follow the following protocol:

http://www.autismpedia.org/wiki/index.php?title=Protocols/Virastop

I think this will be beneficial for us and am looking to get information on how

to properly do an antiviral protocol, how many diff supps do you use, is it OK

that she gets a fever early on, etc.

Any help would be appreciated,

S.

Hi Janet.

Welcome to the Group. Your experiences will sound familiar to a lot of members

here; you've found a bunch of fellow adult kids of personality-disordered

parents (or step-parents) who " get it. "

Many of us here have (or had) domineering, territorial, rejecting,

hyper-critical or jealous/paranoid pd mothers and weak, enmeshed, enabling

fathers; I'm one of them.

One thing to take away with you right off the bat: you didn't cause your dad and

step-mom to feel, think, and behave the way they do, and you can't change them.

Their negative, rejecting behavior is about them, NOT about you being bad or

defective or unworthy.

My own opinion is that they both sound rather narcissistic. Nothing you can say

or do will " cure " them, but you CAN change your own self: you can change the

way you react to their coldness, and you are the author and navigator of your

own healing.

You might want to read the book, " Will I Ever Be Good Enough? " , for the

daughters of narcissistic pd women. And " Understanding The Borderline Mother " ,

and " Surviving A Borderline Parent " are excellent also.

Again, welcome.

Welcome to the group Janet. Focusing on you is a great focus. We can't fix

everyone else but we can fix ourselves. And, by " fix, " I mean - gain

understanding, reset expectations and heal! :)

Take care you and welcome.
