Guest guest
Hi rachel, Are you cooking the prunes or is he eating them dried. If dried it may be too much fibre. Even if they are cooked it may be too much for him because that is what is used for constipation. You may also be on to something with the overload of iron. Trying to cut back on it may help. If things don't clear up soon write back and give us a detailed list of what he is eating. Sheila 47 mos SCD, 20 yrs UC mom of SCD 32 mos > > Hi, everyone. Guest guest
Hi, Sheila. Thank you for your reply. He was eating the prunes mostly just cooked, but on the harder sensory days, I would throw a few in the dehydrator. We always had horrible problems with constipation prior to SCD, and so that is when we introduced the prunes--they have now become one of his food obsessions! Sigh. We have cut way back on the iron-rich foods and cast iron pans. I will let you know if this works! :-) Re: Iron toxicity? > > > Hi rachel, > > Are you cooking the prunes or is he eating them dried.
