If you deal with stress by overeating, sticking to a healthy eating plan when tension mounts can be especially tough. Here's how other Fit Forever! members say they get through those challenging days without turning to food:

Remember that eating just numbs the pain temporarily — it doesn't fix the problem!

Make a pact with yourself that you won't eat unless you're honestly hungry.

Go for a walk to blow off some steam.

Call a friend and talk about how you're feeling. Just getting things off your chest can help you feel better.

Write about how you're feeling in your journal.

Sit down with a pot of hot tea and take a stress break.

Turn to a hobby. If you don't have one, why not start doing something you've always wanted to try?

Carve out some time in your schedule just for you. Use it to recharge and regroup.
