Guest guest
Cari, it is SO good to hear from you and get some news!!!! Glad is so well, but sorry to hear of Shelby's flare. Have you gotten much more info about the RSD- as in futrue prognosis, different meds, etc.? We have missed you:) Congrats to you, , and Cheri. I am thrilled to pieces for you both. Just remember to keep that Cheri a-glowing:) Ha- I should talk! After 20+ years, both my husband and I have that rather age-worn, dull, tarnished look about us...... all we need is a good polishing:) Lesley and I keep finding out just how parallel( as she put it) our lives are. We put an offer on a house tonight. This house also has 3 bedrooms, hardwood floors, one bath and a tiny kitchen and is quite a lot smaller than our present house. Down-sizing is my big goal, so it fits right in with that. We had looked at this house last week, and thought about making an offer, but another couple beat us to it by a few hours. We were disappointed, as their offer was accepted. There are some great things about this house, such as location, potential for reselling at a profit ( it's got the Woodstock mystique but is still just barely in the same township we are in now, so school wouldn't change, and taxes are lower). It's only 3 miles from Woodstock village, but the road it's on is relatively quiet. Nice lot with good backyard- only one-half acre vs. our almost 3 acres. Perfect for easy care-taking and lots of potential for " making pretty. " Some work has been done on it to make it more appealing for buyers, but we said " stop the work! " as it was pretty shoddy- for example, a small hallway was tiled, but the tiles weren't set right and the grout is coming apart. The whole place has been painted insided, but all the same bright white. The owner will put in a new top of the line furnace is we offer his full asking price- we weren't going to, but those other people did, with the same deal, and the realtor says he now knows he can get it, so. The price is pretty much right on, as I've done my homework. With some good cosmetics we could turn around and resell very quickly, if need be. It's a lot different than what we have now, but we both feel it could be nice and comfy and cozy. Has a big, good woodstove so we could probably heat it for much less than what we now pay. Anyway, the other people withdrew their offer over something we know is not significant, so we got the chance. NOW we have to list our house right away and really get moving on things. I did too much last week and felt lousy Friday, and the weekend wasn't much better. I'm most concerned about me handling everything. Realtor thinks we will be able to get multiple offers on our place, possibly get a bidding war between potential buyers, which would of course help us. She knows she's got a gem in our house. I need help, but have yet to figure out where I can get the help I need. No family member is volunteering, that's for sure! I'd happily pay someone to help me, but not sure about cash flow for the next couple of months. Prayers again welcome. We'll see what transpires and I will not put the cart before the horse. Lem and Beck- I hope the eye surgery went all right and have been thinking of you. Annette, I also pray your skin will heal up. If need be, would you be looking at, say, a skin graft in that area? Keep getting lots of rest and let other things go if you can, to aid the healing process. Vicki and Zanna- sounds like you enjoyed L Vegas. But, I have to tell you guys- I've never been there, and it's the one place on earth I've said for years I'd never care to go. All the glitter and gambling turns me off, though I know many people do enjoy it. I like peace and quiet and the fewer the people, the better:) But, I won't say I'll never, ever go there.....
