Did your hubby get the job at the store???

Also, isn't it crazy what you have to make to be considered low income and

get assistance. I was reading my daughter's free lunch program guidelines

from her school (not that we would qualify-I was just curious) and a family

of four had to make less than our mortgage is per month. And we live in one

of the smaller homes in this community.....although, I have lived in much

smaller. Anyway, either, you don't make enough to eat, or you make too much

to get help......

My parents are going on a bus trip to Canada. They leave tomorrow. They will be in Cambellton, New Brunswick on Tuesday the 10th. Are you anywhere near that?? They are then going to go to Prince Island for a couple of days, then Novia Scotia, then on to Maine and South down the East Coast to Hershey, Pennsylvania and then on home to Wisconsin. Wouldn't that be neat if they were going near you?? And, wouldn't you just love to go to Hershey???? Oh, I am going to ask them to find me some of those aerobars or whatever it is you were talking about......mmmmmm. They leave tomorrow but I can call them throughout their trip. They are coming out here in October so maybe they can bring me the candy bars....

Hi, Melita. Okay, I've decided I won't stop my meds. As the woman at CPP

said, I can do that if I see necessary but it won't do me any good because

they'll just view it as me disregarding my Dr's. orders and it would be used

against me instead of for me. What I should have done, if I were really

serious about going off my meds., is not have said a word to anyone and made

believe I was still taking them, then when I get really sick, act like it was

just a flare. But, relax everyone, I won't do that. I've got a husband and

2 small kids to think of and I can't do that to them again. Supposing I

NEVER get approved, I couldn't put them through that again.

As for proof, I have NO IDEA what they need for proof. I called her back

after speaking to her the first time, to ask just that. She said she would

accept a letter from my GP stating that she will not allow me to work due to

my health, but I need evidence showing her why my case is so much worse than

someone elses, because I have improved so much and will continue to do so (in

her words). I said, " so basically, you have most of my file in front of you

and it's still not enough. What more can I provide? " She said, " nothing,

because there's nothing in your file to show this because you don't

qualify " . Can you believe that??? I called 5 different lawyers today and

asked about the rates and each of them put me on hold because they didn't

know and kept me there for way too long. So I hung up on each one. I don't

know if I want to get a lawyer at this stage in the game, because I'm too

cheap with my $$. I hate the thoughts of them taking such a large %.

However, I think they charge by the hour, regardless of whether I win or

not. Not sure.

Thanks for being behind me 150%. That means so much. Heck, I would have

settled for 100%. LOL.

Dawn,

First of all. Great news for Kirk and your family. I am so happy that he got the job. Do we all get discounts??? LOL.

Second, yes, please get the recipe for the applesauce in the blender. I love to make applesauce too but chopping the apples is too hard.

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks, Lesley. Although I know this specialist highly recommends IVIg to her

patients, I don't think she'll prescribe it for me, since I've responded so well

to the Pred/Methx. combination. Wouldn't you agree?

Let us know how you make out at the bone specialist. That should be

interesting....

In case you didn't know Dawn, the Dr. Frederick mentioned in Lynn's Long

Post, is said to be

the top or one of the top doctors in the U.S. (and most probably then North

America) on the subject

of myositis. At least that's what my doctor told me after he called her

(identifying himself as

being from the FDA--she thought she was in trouble) upon my application to be in

the study of

silicone implants. He called me also!

My implant is in my eye as a scleral buckle repairing the detached retina I had

in 1974. Then in

fall 1987 the retina surgeon had to remove part of it because it was tightening

(was that a nice way

to say I'd gained weight?????) and would ruin the eyeball. And that is how I

knew it was silicone--I

asked what it was made of. It was in early 1988 that I began having muscle

weakness etc and was

suspected of having MS. Now my doctor says it wasn't that it was most likely the

PM and/or MCTD. In

between then and my 1997 dx I had really no symptoms.

You have a great weekend!!!!

One thing I tell people is this:

Imagine having the flu. Imagine how sick you feel for the 3 to 5 days you are sick. Now imagine having the flu everyday for the rest of your life. The disease combined with the medication is what that feels like. Plus the fact that you are always sick, makes you 'crazy'.

That's so very true. I'll definately incorporate that into my

argument. I just sent my letter of appeal today so we'll see how long

it takes before I get a date set for the tribunal's hearing.

Hi Zanna It was down to 18 degrees last night and ice is forming on the edge of the pond, but it is a nice fall day today. I hope all you southern California girls are having fun in the sun today! /Wa Re: Re: Dawn Does California even have a "cold of winter"??? LOL. Sorry...couldn'tresist. :oP YEEEEESSSSSS! It was down to 65 degrees last week. Almost had to put a jacket on!!! hehehe. Last winter we were down to 38 degrees. I am hoping it will snow one year. I love it though because we get snow in the hills behind us and our grass is green, and I can see the mountains with their snowcaps from our green back yard. It is a beautiful thing. No snow to shovel, no cars to plug in, no windows to scrape, no blue toes, no mittens, blah, blah, blah.......Zanna
