Guest guest
Ugh Jill - not again! You may be onto something there, but I know nothing about taurine sorry, so nothing about the potential interactions either. has a form here for his next carnitne levels that are due to be drawn - and I am dreading it. A bit of active ignoring going on, cos I am loath to introduce the carnitine again if his levels should be low. The last levels he had done were off the chart - sky high (one was actually up in the 100's - can't remember which) after supplementing for only 10 days (beg of the hospital nightmare Nov/Dec), but I am picking they have prob dropped down again - back on depakote and diet combination - they always do without supplementing. Because he is still seizure free I am doubting it is worth getting them done - even if he is low I won't be touching anything, esp with another cal increase looming here next week (D actually followed the height growth chart this past 3 mths, which is great - but even upping cals has me nervous). What about avocados? Did you ever try them as a natural carnitine boost? That's about all I will be trying with probably if his carn is low, I have no idea if he likes them though.... ----- Original Message ----- > Hello > I am wondering whether anyone has information about whether supplementing > Taurine can affect blood Carnitine levels. > > My daughter's carnitine levels have again dropped, despite increasing > overall protein and redmeat in her diet. > > (Free 14, total 43, ratio 2.07) > > I have been supplementing with Taurine and wonder if there is a connection > here.
