Guest guest
>He says the only thing that he doesn't want to do again is smell the gas they used to put him to sleep. , That's funny, but that gas does smell pretty bad...lol. Let him know that he can talk to the anesthesiologist ahead of time and request a flavor be rubbed in the mask to make it smell good. My kids have both been through multiple surgeries and tests where they had to be sedated and while they don't always use if for the younger one because he can't speak up (literally) my 5 year old likes it so much better knowing it will have a nice smell. I know this isn't really important I just thought I would let you know if you talk to the anesthesiologist ahead of time they can work something out. If you don't get him before though then he may not have the flavors available. Just a suggestion to make things a little more comfortable for him if in fact he does get another CI, or anything for that matter that requires general anesthesia. It's just one of those stress reducers for the kidos. Bilateral Implant Articles & Stories
