Guest guest
Thanks these shivers are so violent, and with the temp' drop I thought it just has to be thyroid, but my Dr just shook her head and said maybe it was anxiety, well I think I know when I am anxious, but the dear Dr's do not seem to want to look further. These replies are very reasurring. Many thanks Celia Hi Celia, I have been hypo for 30 years and get these shivers also. As far as I am concerned they are symptons. F. Guest guest
I get the same thing too! Could it be a thyroid thing? I think so, but i'm just learning about thyroid disease so I could be wrong. But since I have no thyroid and I experience the samething, I would say yup. > > Can anyone tell me if they get these strange symptoms I have been getting. Guest guest
Dear Celia, I have just been diagnosed with hashimoto thyroiditis and I can tell you I am always cold even cold to the touch my hands feel like they have been in a freezer all day but your right I get the shivers to toward the evening and it is just like a bone chilling cold. so no your not wrong your not losing it . I have also had axiety attacks and I never shivered like this. Of course the DR won't treat it I am with topper they have thier heads up there butts when it comes to thyroid I think they don't know enough about it and it scares them. In fact when I was diagnosed with hasi my Dr said to me that he was just going to monitor it and I should change my diet and I thought ok he is the Doc he knows what he is talking about but after my talks with Topper and I realize I have the right to be treated and i should have been put on medication right away to at least slow down the process of this diseaase but being trusting of my Dr of many years I did what he said then last night feeling so losey I called the insurance company nurse and she told me oh no hon you need medication now so I today changed Dr and I go see her on Feb 14th 2006 she is suppose to be very good we shall see. You hang in there and stick t your guns with your DR. Just like says it is your body and you know how you feel . Guest guest
Thanks Tina, this shivering is the pits!! It makes me feel sooo sick, and the next day I am like a zombie...I have just gone off my thyroid med's as I ordered some Armour and was told to go off the thyroid meds for about a week before I started the Armour - which I hope to get any day soon.. I also recently got told I have an enlarged heart and so when I told the Dr about the shivers she said oh but you have been anxious since I told you about your heart!! Beat that!!!! So that is how I suddenly became an anxious person, nice to know!!!:-))) My hands are frozen now as I type, I need an electric blanket on in bed, and after a while I begin to get too hot and have to hang my legs out of the bed, can't win!!:-)) Good thing is at least now I know it can be a thyroid thing, bugger the Doctor!!!!!!!!!:-))))) Celia

Guest guest
Why in the world were you told to go off meds until the Armour came.. there is no reason to do that.... What dose of T4 were you on and what is the starting dose of the Armour? You should be able to quite easily take a T4 one day and an Armour the next... stopping in between is going to deplete your T4 reserves and make you crash after you take the Armour... and then, well, are they gonna say that it was because of the Armour???
