My first scan was clean and my Tg was 4. My endo said the Tg was too low to do anything about, so we went for watch and wait. I posted to the group at that time and learned several others were in the same boat. It seems at low Tgs, the odds of RAI working are not as good. My second scan (which was a month ago) was clean again and my Tg was 5.6. At this point, the endo wants to do another RAI. He says that in a bit more than half the people in this situation, an RAI treatment dose will show something on the post-treatment scan. Dr Ain (who sometimes posts here) says the same thing. If nothing shows up on the scan after the treatment, it'll mean RAI no longer works on my thyca. Plan B will be surgery. If surgery is not possible, then there's always external beam radiation. So there are options here. How high is your Tg? Best wishes, --Carmen in nyc 10/00 TT, pap thyca 11/00 RAI, 100 mCi 12/01 Tg 4, scan clean 12/02 Tg 5.4, scan clean

Guest guest
Hi Sarrob 2002, Count me in also. TT with mets to 2 possibly 3 lymph nodes to right side of neck this was April of '01, then 150 mci RAI. My first year hypo f/u was scan negative and tg was 69. My endo sent me over 2 hours away to a thyroid cancer specialist who found 2 mal. lymph nodes out of four that he biopsied. One on each side of my neck. So in October I had a bilateral modified lymph node dissection. I see the thyca specialist in 6 days for follow up testing. In 's archives are stored lots if info on this same subject. But I am not computer literate to find them for you. where are you????? Has this happened to you? Take care, Laurel Rising Thyroglobulin/Normal Body scan Has anyone else had the experience of their thyroglobulin level rising but the body scan being normal? sarrob2002
