Guest guest
Does your friend know that you are following Weight Watchers? If so, it does make a person wonder WHY she would put all the butter on the vegetables, etc. But.. since she IS your best friend, maybe you could ask her if she could set aside some of the veggies so that they are plain? I find it kind of hard when I eat at someone else's place too. Restaurants are almost easier because of all the questions that you CAN ask without potentially offending someone. One thing that I AM thankful for is that my parents buy the extra lean ground beef (7% fat). That helps. > -----Original Message----- > From: stratton christi > > I went to my best friends house yesterday to hang out, > after we ran errands. Guest guest
It sounds like she doesn't really make the connection between the changing of eating habits and Weight Watchers. Well, since you DO know your friend... most likely unless she actually wants to know more about it, you probably won't get through to her about what it is that you are doing with the program. Since YOU know what you need to do, and are doing it.. well.. you will succeed!! Just consider her cooking a challenge and go from there. Or at least if you guys go out to eat, you can order whatever you want. One of my good friends from central MN is an awesome cook. Her family is thin except for her... and she makes virtually everything from scratch and sees really no need to substitute high fat/calorie foods for healthier options. I just have to make sure that I can visualize an actual portion.. and make sure to use condiments that are good choices. (Her husband can make a really good pork chop and baked potato on the grill!) I just have to make sure that MY piece of cake is SMALL. LOL > -----Original Message----- > From: stratton christi > > We had a brief discussion about why > changing your eating habits and losing weight without > trying to is good, but doing the same thing on purpose > is not. We dont discuss it. Partially cause i know she > is going to say when i do, that im " obsessed " .
Guest guest
I just noticed that I never really finished my email! I had to go to a meeting and came back and found that I hadn't sent this message. What I meant to write was that eating at my parents' house is much easier knowing that they buy the extra lean beef. My mom can make a million and one things with a pound of ground beef... and since this is typically the food item with the highest fat content in her recipes, KNOWING that it is extra lean makes it a little less stressful (food-related) to go there for supper. I'm trying to convince her to use the 98% fat-free cream of whatever soups. I think it is working. For her, as long as my DAD doesn't know it is reduced-fat and he will eat it, then she will use it. LOL > RE: my wednesday night dinner..sigh > > > Wow, I can't believe what I read here > > Sandberg wrote:Does your > friend know that you are following Weight Watchers? Guest guest
I do just what does as none of Dh's family knows I am doing WW. And they are all thin people with clogged arteries! So when I eat at their house (I usually know a day in advance so I save points) and I just take a small bit of everything and guestamate the points and when I am done journaling I just add in my saved points into my total and call it good. I might be a big high on the points but I'd rather be that way than too low. Nobody is the wiser ) Moe If it's not a baby, Your not pregnant! Guest guest
Has your friend gotten a lot of comments on her weight loss? How good she looks now etc? Ya know how we all have the qerky little voice in our heads working against us. Could she be afraid that if you lose weight you will get the comments and they will forget about her weight loss? Just a thought. Moe If it's not a baby, Your not pregnant!
