I'm scheduled for Thyrogen but went hypo ten > years ago. What's the difference? Thyrogen is not usually done for the first few scans, because it's not quite as reliable as going hypo. What it does is allow you to stay on meds, and not go hypo, thus avoiding months of feeling sub-par :-). The thyrogen artificially raises your TSH. For both methods, you should follow a LID for the 2 weeks prior to your scan dose. > 2. Have noticed through your many postings that Hashimoto's is > often dx along with pap. I had both as well. Don't know if there are other studies that agree with it: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Thyca/message/11132 > 3.
