Guest guest
, WONDERFUL! WONDERFUL! I AM SO GLAD THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO DO THIS AGAIN. IT GIVES EVERYONE HOPE THAT THEY TOO MAY OVERCOME. CAROL/PINEY rheumatic Spring Bike Riding!!!!! :-) It's a beautiful sunny spring day in Western Washington State, and I rode my bike for an hour! :-) Two years ago when we moved into this neighborhood I was known as the "lady in the wheelchair". Today I surprised the neighborhood kids (including my own two) by riding around the neighborhood while the school bus was bringing them home. You should've seen their faces! A year ago I could just barely hold a telephone receiver up to my ear. And today I climbed over the junk in our messy garage, untangled my dusty bike from the hoses, etc., and LIFTED it over my head as I maneuvered myself out to the driveway. My kids were so young when the RA hit me that they had never seen me on a bike before today. What a thrill! Just wanted to share this with those of you that are in the middle of the war. Trust me--it WILL get better. It takes time and patience. I was in a living hell for about 3 years before things turned around. I almost gave up on both antibiotics AND life. But something kept me going...... And....OH, how well worth it it was!! --To unsubscribe, email: rheumatic-unsubscribeegroups

Guest guest
, I am so happy for you!!!!! Sounds like you had a wonderful day! It is so nice to hear about people who are doing better and getting better all the time!! I just found out today that I can do my water aerobics in a pool for 3.00 the older ladies invited me to go swimming with them, they go once a week but.. this year have only gone twice so I will be going at least once a week but I am going to talk to whoever is in charge if I can come up three times a week. I need to build the muscles back up in my legs. Getting well is wonderful but my legs are like jello due to the lack of use.. So I am really happy about that too!! Peace and hope you have many more days like today!!! Guest guest
What a cheering letter . I get very frustrated that I can't do what I used to be able to do. It came on strongly when I had a group of kids at the beach this week. I LOVE seashore studies but I couldn't crouch over the rock pools, crawl around and investigate, or even stand around much, I was in such pain. SO I am grateful you posted this. I'll hang in there. Guest guest
, Congratulations. What a story. My son bought a new mountain bike yesterday and I'd love to ride it someday. Thanks for telling us about your wonderful improvement. BTW, your garage sounds like mine and I do a little bit of clearing when I get a chance. :>) Bev Just wanted to share this with those of you that are in the middle of the war. Guest guest
What a wonderful comeback and inspirational message for all here. I am smiling for you - and wanting to crawl on that bike, too. Spring, spring where are you? Guest guest
Dear , This is so good to hear! We are all excited for you. Where you said you were in hell for 3 years before you turned around, were you on the A.P. for those 3 years? I have been on it for 5 months, and my doctor said that if there is no improvement by the 6 month point, she will review it and probably discontinue the A.P. I do not have R.A. I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibro and Multiple Chemical Sensitivities. Any advice appreciated, allrosy@... rheumatic Spring Bike Riding!!!!! :-) It's a beautiful sunny spring day in Western Washington State, and I rode my bike for an hour! :-) Two years ago when we moved into this neighborhood I was known as the "lady in the wheelchair". Guest guest
Dear and others who've replied, What dose were you on? Did you have to change doses from time to time? Thanks for your advice. I have been feeling really horrible on only 50mg. Mon and Thurs. Every time I try to increase it I feel shocking. I guess a healthy person wouldn't even notice such a low dose so I must be on the right track. Looks like I'm here for the long haul! My G.P. is not an expert on this but is open to advice, so I'll show her letter. Love, Rosemary Trudeau. Re: rheumatic Spring Bike Riding!!!!! :-) Hello! Yes, I was on antibiotics for 3 years before this thing turned around. Sounds like forever?? It FELT like forever!! It was a bit like a rollercoaster. I saw some improvement within a couple of months after starting minocin. I thought I was on the easy road to health. HA!! I then got dramatically worse.....for many, many months. I kept thinking that perhaps I was one of those that would NOT be helped by antibiotics. I was in horrific pain, unable to do even the simplest tasks, extremely depressed, and sometimes suicidal. My two little boys kept me here. I remember actually feeling bitter sometimes that I had those boys.....because I wanted to give up on life and I couldn't do it because of THEM. (I don't know if that makes sense to anyone.) Somehow I held on. I'm thankful that I had a rheumatologist that completely supports this treatment and has a lot of experience with it. He kept telling me not to give up. Anyway, please don't stop the antibiotics after 6 months!! If you have to change doctors, travel further to a doctor, whatever!....it's worth it. Stick with it. It could take much longer than 6 months (and probably will), but it's well worth the wait. -------------------------------------------- Dear , This is so good to hear! We are all excited for you. Guest guest
Dear , Thanks for your letter. I am in Australia and the local doctors are not familiar with this treatment. I finally found one who is, but she only tried it on people for six months and did not get good results. So I will show her letter and I am sure she will work with me as it is such a low dose.
