Guest guest
Hi Sheila She just had another one this afternoon. This is what she ate today so far: eggs for breakfast and water with apple cidar diluted, banana bread for her AM snack, lunch was turkey, peanut butter, banana with homemade yogurt, the balance of her banana bread from this AM, OJ & water mixed with 1/2 capsule of a multi vitamin, 1/2 capsule of lacto acidophilus and cod liver oil (which has begun on Sunday). AND this afternoon's bowel movement had some small particles in it...do you know what this could have been? I thought maybe the peanut butter because it's not completely smooth and the particles in her BM looked like a peanut in colour. I don't know what to make of this...any help would be appreciated. Should we be giving her enzymes on top of everything else? Thanks RoSe Sheila Trenholm wrote: Hi Ro, > Has anyone else experienced their child not having formed BMs since starting SCD? We've been on the diet for about 2 months. Should we just wait this out a bit or does this mean we should try enzymes? Our child is also being detoxed via homeopathy so perhaps it could be the remedies but we're unsure. Although it may in part be due to the homeopathic detox it's probably more likely to be what she's eating. Your previous post said that your daughter eats raisins. If this is the child having trouble this may be one of the culprits. When I first put Dan on SCD although his bm frequency went way down his stools were unformed. They didn't firm up until we cut out all dried fruit for a couple of months. Although the raisins were wonderfully convenient they were to complex for the condition of his gut. Once we backed up to easier to digest fruits and veggies his bm's firmed up very quickly. What other foods is your child eating? Guest guest
Hi Sheila Yesterday was the first day of eating banana bread (in about 3 or 4 weeks) made with blanched almond flour. And yes she is the one who loves to eat raisins. We give her one and sometimes two little boxes per day. And yes the multi and acidophilus are the Kirkman's SCD legal type. I too suspected peanut butter because our natural peanut butter is a bit grainy which is similar to what I saw in her BM. So it couldn't possibly be the almond flour since it's extremely fine, could it? And why would she suddenly develop a sensitivity to peanut butter? Could that be possible? Thank you for all your help:-) Without all of you we wouldn't be able to stick to this. Nobody in our small town believes in diet intervention. In fact it's been suggested that I not mention it to anyone. People will think we're crazy to believe that it can " help " our sweet little child.....I can't wait to prove it to them! But, if eggs, yogurt, banana, banana bread (what kind of nut are you making this from?)apple cider, orange juice, multi-vitamin, acidophilus and peanut butter are the only foods she is eating I'd think that peanut butter is the most likely culprit, but it could also be whatever nut butter/flour that you make the banana bread with. 4 questions 1.) Is she also eating raisins or is that one of your othr kids? 2.) Is she eating any other foods other than these above? 3.) Are you sure that the multivitamin and acidophilus are legal? 4.) Are you using blanched nut flour or nut butter to make the banana bread? Sheila > Hi Sheila > > She just had another one this afternoon. Guest guest
Hi Rose, Try cutting out the raisins it sounds as if it's too early for them. If she is still having unformed bm's it is too early for raisins. If that doesn't clear things up I look at the pb next and lastly the almond flour.
