They used to say that having an internal os wider than a certain width was a good hint, and there is some truth to that, but it is still not a reliable indicator of future IC. Past history of injury to the cervix, surgery to it or any other anomaly is another hint that there could be IC in the future. Having two cervices per se is not a clear indicator. Absent any history or plain evidence of cervical abnormality, your best bet is to confer with your OB and/or perinatologist and get monitored during the critical weeks of your pregnancy for cervical shortening. I haven't seen an OB yet (impatiently waiting) but when I do I will have a whole list of questions for him. Thanks again.
