Guest guest
Just wanted to let everyone know that Barb completed her second resurfacing with Dr. Stachniw in Galesburg, Il. on Tuesday and is doing well. She was afraid of it being worse but has told me that it is much easier the second time. She took time to make sure that the things that bothered her were addressed (such as how awful she felt when she woke up and to up the drugs immediately) She said that it has made the difference. I had the great pleasure of meeting up with her and her guy for dinner before surgery. I live in Iowa only 50 miles from Galesburg and she flew in from Washington STate. We have been talking on the phone and the internet for quite a few months and I was delighted to meet her at the airport. I must say that good friends can be made here!!!!!!!!!!! She will be staying there ten days as she wants to go to the skilled care unit for five days before she takes the flight home. Her insurance is covering 100%!!!! She has BC/BS of Illinois. Maybe it is because it is Illinois....but she did not want to ask any questions or they might change their minds. She has been one of the lucky ones with insurance. I think that she paid $2.00 for the first one. Well, she is very happy to have it done. She also spent quite a bit of time with Dr. Stachniw who had bilateral in November with Dr. Gross. He is very sympathetic and so much more understanding. Amazing to me that he is doing surgery and started doing it in December!!! Guest guest
Lois, I have been talking to Barb and went and visited her today. I brought her some fresh fruit which was something that I remember craving. She gobbled a couple of necturines and said she was going to move to Iowa for the produce (even though we certainly are not producing these here at this time of year) I told her that you said hey and she was glad to hear that you were thinking of her. She says when she gets home to Washington she will send you an email. She is coming home on Friday. Jan
